My car was crashed on the right side and now the tire violently shakes. I went to buy one from GM (right axle) and the guy asked if it were 7.5 or 8.5 (idk exactly what he was referring to). My father didnt know which and now i have come to you guys. By the way, if anyone has one to spare, new or in good cond. , email me at:

e_barri@bellsouth.net

Thanks,
Jonathan

The number there asking for is the size of the ring gear. The GN's and T-Types use the 8.5.

If you got hit hard enough you may want to also check your axle tube (these are pressed in) and ring and pinion gear also for damage.

Good Luck

The 7.5 and 8.5 are referring to the size of your rear end...you more than likely have an 8.5", because i assume you have an 86 or 87 turbo buick.

You best bet is to look for good used ones on here or just spend the extra loot and buy a pair of Strange or Mosers. They should be about $250 for a pair of race quality axles.

I have a set used stock axles if you want them make an offer.
