There were tools that he left behind that he knows is still there, they were just too big to get I guess. One was my brand new engine hoist.......a 302 engine, a T5 tranny, an AOD tranny, numerous exhaust parts, electrical wiring, 2 computers, etc.....he will be back.........I'm waiting, I shot my gun today out there at some jugs, from 40 yards with the 3" #4 shot and a full turkey choke.........it made about a 10" pattern, nice!!!!!! Can't wait to take one of his legs out!!!!!!!

I made a video of my house and my contents just for this reason. I even video taped somebody elses tool box just so I could pad the claim if they ever got stolen.

That's why they ask for receipts and take depreciation on the tools because of people that commit insurance fraud. We all pay with reduced claims and higher premiums.

I hear what you are saying, but man did the claims adjuster try and make me feel like I was trying to steal from State Farm or something......I finally said, Look.....I don't hesitate to pay my monthly $225 bill to state farm and if I don't you guys send me a nice little friendly reminder and threaten to cancel me If I don't pay......so how about you just pay my damn claim or I can find another insurance company. This is the first ever claim on my homeowners insurance ever and yet I feel like they think the tools weren't really stolen...and what sucks, get this, they can't do anything via email....it all has to be snail mailed back and forth........what year is this again?

If thats the way they act and use the snail mail i will have to look for another ins company.

I hold them at bay with smith & wesson while Turbo the rott tears them up:eek: and then call the cops. The best is the paintball gun with frozen paint balls:eek: Like Charlie Daniels says (Hang em up high and let em swing till the sun goes down) Then shoot them:biggrin:

That's another way that we all pay when people decide to commit insurance fraud.... Us honest people get harassed. The claims adjuster was trying to see if you'd remain consistant. Any cracks in your story means you get referred to their investigative unit.

Insurance companys will screw you if they can fast!!!! I had a set of rims stole from my shop a few years back. They wouldn't pay for them because they were not on the car when they stole them. Total horse crap. Over 20 years with them and never a claim then when I finally had one they won't pay. FARM BEAURA, I have since swapped companys.

I've been with state farm for 25 years now......if they try to screw me on this deal I'm done with them. Lately they have been getting more difficult to deal with. They screwed me on the deal recently where someone backed into my Nissan Maxima and because we both had state farm insurance they thought I should make an adjustment because this other guy had state farm as well. Their adjuster estimated $975 for an accident that should have been $2000. I had to take my car to some rinky dink shop to fix because they only settled for a small amount........I'm also pissed right now because they won't pay for my son's radiator that was stolen. She told me it had to be filed under a car claim and that had a $250 deductible. The radiator replacement cost was $230. I said cmon, you got me on the $1000 home owners deductible and now you are applying the $250 car deductible????!!!!!!

p.s. night 2 turned up no intruders.......I think I will bait up the sight with some interesting stuff sitting out tonight

No insurance company can tell you where to fix your car. An insurance company usually will have their appraiser complete an estimate before it goes to the shop. You decide on which shop you want to go to and that shop will work from the insurance company estimate. If the shop has any differences, then they contact the appraiser for a reinspection. They may have "suggested" a shop, but the ultimate decision is yours. It's your car, they can't tell you what to do with it.

Secondly, auto insurance is for autos. Home owner insurance is for homes. You guys can't get upset with the insurance company for holding to the contract that you agreed to when you signed up. People rarely read their policy and get upset when things aren't handled like they think they should.

Did you know that if you're in your car and back into another car you own that you'd be charged for two deductibles (one for each car)? Man would people get upset when I told them that. But that's what the policy said and that's how it had to be handled. There was nothing I could do unless I wanted to lose my job.

Ah yes, the ol "you signed it" speech........it's always what everyone falls back on as their security blanket. Honestly, who actually reads every single word of the fine print in those policies. A home is a home, period.......if my Crescent wrench is considered part of the home then an uninstalled radiator should be as well.........I didn't start this post to start arguing with people about insurance companies, you either are one or work for one. Not going to argue it........my post was to comment on how thieves are low life pieces of scum......that's where I would like to stay.

I didn't realize we were in an arguement. I was just trying to help explain the repair process so that you realize what your rights are if you ever have another auto claim. If I ever enter into a contract with someone, yes, I always read it.

You mentioned in your first post that the radiator was "stolen out of" the Mustang. If it wasn't installed, then you may have a point. But to know for sure, I'd have to read the policy. And then we're back to that issue.

Sorry if I touched a nerve, I just wanted to offer help. Good luck catching em. Keep us posted!!!

Hey man, I use the word "argue" like I do "talk"......if we "argue" about it or "talk" about it, it's all the same to me......didn't mean it in a bad way. The radiator wasn't installed, it was in the box sitting in the garage, not yet put in....I'll have to see on that one. Thanks for the input, just meant I didn't want to distract from the thieves comments with insurance talk.......I know it can get into a heated "debate" about what is covered and what isn't covered.....take care and thanks for the input. And I will keep you updated on what happens if they show up again!

Don’t know about your state but in NY you can pay a fee and have a law enforcement officer come over and collect Finger prints and have them run through the system. Try that.

 WTF? Isn't that why we pay taxes? Now the taxes merely employ the police and you have to pay user fees for personal attention?

Yeah, it ticks me off that they wouldn't even come out and look around. I meant we're talking about a 3,000 dollar deal. If it were a $2000 car that was stolen they would have been all over it.........I don't understand how the law works, I really don't. I even had two good tips on possible suspects and nothing, no one has even called me back like they said they would.............

Seems like they really don't care to be honest. I've been in a similar situation and they couldn't have cared less. I guess it's good that you filed a report. If the crooks suddenly decide to turn themselves in, maybe they'll give you a call (sarcasm). No offense to any police officers. For crimes like I'm sure they don't have the manpower to actually put effort into it. With little chance of getting caught and even if they are caught, little punishment, it's shouldn't be surprising that crime is so rampant.

Not the cops fault some one stole this guys tools, they have a thought enough job

Now excobraguy you want your tools start going to your friends and their friends garages and looking for your tools the odds are on your favor. I can say I now about friends and friend’s friends.

Put 3in mag. slugs . Aim center mass ,dont shoot to wound .They will win
in court .Good luck hunting.

We have had quite a few things come up missing lately. Spot lights, generator, car parts, etc.
Who I think is doing it to us, is these people that go around in a beat up pickup asking if you want your metal junk removed. With the price of scrap as it is, they keep coming back and badgering some people. Doesn't take anything out where we are to just back the truck up, go knock on the door to see if anyones home. If we are, they ask if theres anything we want to get rid of. If not, hey.. its easy pickins. throw whatever they want in the truck under the "junk". I just went out the other night looking for our yard work lights (nice halogens on a tripod stand) and it came up missing.
The last time these guys came around, I made it clear I didn't want to see them here. I told them I knew what the stuff was worth, and Id be dammed if I was gonna give it to them when I can make money off it. The only lucky thing is that we have neighbors on both sides, and people come and go at all hours. But I know a few people that have had items "disappear" after giving up some useless metal junk to one of these guys driving around.
Not to say thats what happened in your case, but Im just posting to make others aware that its going on, and to be on the lookout.

(I've had to threaten 2 people because I wouldnt sell or "give" them my Electra. I told one guy, "look man, I have a mean ass dog in the house, along with a rifle, a compound bow with broadheads, and a freaking phone to call the cops if those dont work. Now get off my property!")
