Anyone who has seen the movie Dazed and Confused will probably enjoy this video, the songs not to bad either.

Matthew McConaughey was great in that movie, movie ranks right up there with American Graffitti. Lived in the Dazed and Confused era, good times! Got to ride in and beat on a lot of the coveted musclecars from the 60's and 70's that are now looked upon as museum pieces.

As far as the song, kept thinking it sounded sort of familiar. Reminded me of that C'mon Irene song............. Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners (HQ Audio) - YouTube

"You know what I like about high school girls? I get older but they stay the same age!"

One of the best lines in a movie ever.

Yep, Great movie.

And i think you are right about C'mon Irene sample being used, you can also hear a sample from UB40's Kingston Town

i wonder if they could make a good sequel to Dazed and Confused that takes place 20 years after the original, and follows the kids of the main characters on their last day of school in 1996.. i think it could be a good movie if done with the proper amount of respect for the time period..

I read an article about the time differences such as 1976 to 1993 which is 17yrs,and also American Grafitti was thrown in there too -something like 12yrs. Anyway to sum it up,wheres the iconic movie now that is set in the late 90's?. Maybe its out there I'm just too damn old.

it's harder to have an idealized version of a time period when everyone was starting to keep track of what was going on in the rest of the world in real time.. the 50's, 60's, and 70's can be idealized because the only thing anyone knew was what they saw with their own eyes or saw on one of 3 network news broadcasts. the 80's and up is a bit trickier because of the 24 hour news channels and the internet..

"Say, man, you got a joint? "...

"No not on me"....

"It would be a lot cooler if you did".

"Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packin' right here, all right. We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower. We're talkin' some ****in' muscle"
