original GN trans w/ 38K miles.
Was stock until I put in Bruce's shift kit, pressure regulator valve, and his deep aluminum pan(nice!).
Results were taken at approximately 1000rpm after the car sat in the garage and warmed up for about 15 minutes.

Gear Min TV Max TV
P 105 215
R 175 175
N 105 175
OD 105 175
D 105 175
2 175 175
1 165-175 175

Numbers sound OK?
Does TV cable adjustment affect this?
I would ASSume it does.

Any comments?

Your maximum pressures, while in spec for a stock BRF, are on the low side. With Bruce's parts added you should be over 200 psi. You should definitely review your cable adjustment as it does have an effect here.

The other strange thing is your Reverse numbers. You should be considerably lower at minimum throttle and maximum pressures should be in the 300 psi range. Perhaps your Reverse Boost valve assembly was put back in upside down?

Haven't messed with the car yet, but before I do...where is the reverse boost valve?
On the paperwork that came w/ the pressure regulator system and shift kit it doesn't say anything about it or where it is.
In the valve body?
Was it one that I would have removed to replace a spring in?

Also, what about check balls? In Bruce's directions he says to leave alone 1 checkball. So what does that mean? Reinstall it if there was one there when the valve body was removed or leave it out? Anyone? Bruce? You out there?

Thanks.

Leave one alone...

That one is up inside the tranny, above the VB. You can't do anything to it unless you dive deeper.
(I only know this cause I called "The Man" on this very thing a while back)

Great!

Thanks CaptRob!
When we put it back together we put 7 checkballs back in so I'm OK there.

Now what about this reverse boost valve?

Yep, that's it. Bruce's photo shows them in the proper orientation. The large diameter end of the boost valve faces toward the top.

I'm sure I put that in right.
If you put the large end of the boost valve in it will only slide down so far in the other piece. It will not fall out. It will only push out the top, right?
If so, then it is in correctly. I remember how the pressure regulator valve stuff went in...like I said we had a heck of a time with it.
Any other ideas?

I might just go drive it for a little bit and adjust the TV again. It probably need to go 1 more click back towards the firewall. Sometimes it seems like it upshifts a shade too soon.
So I'll try that and maybe do another pressure test and see what the numbers look like. It'll give me something to do this weekend.

What I meant here was that, while the boost valve will only go into the sleeve one way, there's nothing preventing the entire assembly from going into the pump bore upside down. You're right though, in that the valve should not try to fall out of the sleeve if oriented properly.

I understood what you meant.
I was just thinking if that we put the assembly in upside down that the valve would have been trying to fall out while we were trying to put it in. :)

Had a problem with my e-mail and this morning I get a reply from Bruce on an e-mail that I sent him last tuesday night.

His comments were that "you have no tv boost. Int and rev boost is working but no tv boost"

I've been fighting my BGC elbow and downpipe and the puck being stuck, so I haven't gotten a chance to really drive the car lately, but I should have it fixed later this afternoon. I'm going to go for a ride and screw with the TV cable to get that set and then I'll do another pressure test.

Question, Bruce says no TV boost. Causes? Fixes?

Thanks guys.
