just one of those things you do to figure out how it works and whatnot. i knew it was whooped. anyway, there's a tag on it that says "rebuilt for general motors" by AIRRESEARCH INDUSTRIAL DIVISION. does this mean that the turbo was replaced on this car at one time? i am just trying to figure out the history on this car somewhat, not that it matters because i'm so far into it. i'm beginning to think i got hosed on the original purchase, and would like to back up my claim before i make any accusations. it's kind of my own fault though, because i didn't research anything first. all's i knew was, i had some money, and I WANTED A GRAND NATIONAL!

Sorry for the stupid post!

Hello,
Chances are it was replaced, mabe by the dealer. It still a gm part though. Did the shaft have a lot of play in it?
Unless the car was adverised as extremely low milage or one owner and all original, i wouldnt be to concerned.
Goodluck with it,

Mike

yeah, the shaft had tons of play. wasn't advertised as all original or low mileage, or anything like that.
