Here in NH when you bag a deer by hunting or by car.

The car method catch is yours to take home & sell the meat.

I hear you can get good $$ for the meat.

BUT WHO WOULD normally buy the meat?

A butcher?
Chinese food joint?
Someone on Ebay?

WHO?

Meat processing places(the people who make sausage/hamburger/jerkey.

Here in NC--we have pork centers, sausage proc. centers and individual proc'rs that buy, process, and sell it.

If you have never had deer sausage--you sure are missing out on a treat----virtually no fat, full of flavor.I keep 20-50 lbs in my outside freezer on a regular basis.

Here in PA the butcher buys it. I usually kill between 4 and 10 deer a season (unlimited doe permits in the county I hunt in) He normally charges 75 or so to process the meat. But if you give him the whole deer he'll give you money or meat. Like hamburger, sausage, jerky, or whatever instead of all of the meat. I usually get deer jims they are the best! :D I can't remember the last time I ate beef!

Don't you need to field dress a gun shot wound so the meat doesn't get tainted? Or drain the blood or cut the organs out?

So now your going to run down deer with the truck for profit? Must be easier ways to make a buck:D :D

Most of the deer I take are with the compound bow so it's a nice clean cut with no bullet metal. If I do shoot one with the gun I wait about half hour for the deer to be totally dead and then I field dress it right in the woods and take it right to the butcher. As you drag it thru the woods the rest of the blood comes out. I've been hunting since I was 12 and got a buck and at least one doe every year since. Yes my walls are filled with deer heads and rack plaques

Speaking of deer...

Too bad I don't hunt. These pics were taken from the living room window. They were about 75ft away. They seem to like to come up and eat the apples that fall off the trees. :)

mmmm deer burgers on the grill!

Thanks Jeff! I'll have to scan some when I get the time and upload them. Got plenty of pictures like that. One year I shot 5 deer in 15 minuets! One nice 10 point and 4 doe. I think I broke the record for our farm for the most the fastest! lol I was sitting in a tree stand in this area where all the deer run when they are shot at or pushed. Well 4 different guys shot at 4 different groups of deer and the left overs came my way. I think total 12 deer passed me that day in a half hour time peroid! That was one of those once in a life time hunting days for sure! It was pretty nasty dressing 6 deer all in a row in the woods. They all were laying within a 5 yard area after I shot them. That's what I always liked about hunting.. you never know what's going to happen that day in the woods!
