I know, technically not in the "southwest", bu since there's not a Rocky Mountain region I thought some folks here might be able to point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a a good mechanic in Colorado that knows Turbo Buicks and doesn't rip people off (tall task I know). Thus far I've held off having any work done after reading the horror stories on this board about members going to the wrong shop. Thanks for any help!
 
I guess it depends on what kind of work you're looking to get done. These cars are pretty easy to work on and that's one reason I got mine. I am in Denver if you have any questions let me know. It's rare you see any turbo buicks out here.
 
Hey,

I'm mainly looking to do the run of the mill stuff........ fuel pump, valve springs, turbo, alky kit and possibly a little work to the trans with a stall convertor. Nothing major, but I don't have much experience so I was hoping to find someone around that new these cars. I've yet to see another turbo regal out in Denver.

Yea most of that stuff is pretty straight forward and easy, but then again I used to be a tech. I've already done most of that myself too haha. I need to do my valve springs in the near future too and it can be tricky. http://www.diyautorepairshops.com/ is a place I go to when i need to do extensive work. They let you rent tools and a lift for 25 bucks an hour. Way better than lying on your back in the old garage lol.
 
That DIY shop rental looks pretty cool. How long did it take you you to do the fuel pump/hotwire/fuel pressure regulator work? Since you were a tech I'm guessing I could take your time and double it and I might be in the ballpark.
 
Fuel Pump itself took about an hour. The hotwire kit took about another 45 minutes. I did both of these on a lift with an empty tank so it was really fast. FP regulator takes about 30min.
 
Hello from down in the steel city 719, every thing you want can be done in a weekend Minus the trans part also look up dusty for a T/c. also what about injectors, chip,goals you have in mind. I have a85 hot air an a 86 coldair.an do all my own work.

Hey - I've got some 55 lb injectors I plan on putting in when I do the fuel pump & FPR. Ideally I'd like to run 12.0 all day long at altitude. Not really sure what it would take to run that time at mile high - hope to stick with a quick spooling turbo for the street and a 2800 stall.

Try an do your chip an combo all the same. Also look for a ta49 for stock appearing. Also hit bison up for one. dusty for the T/C an eric at turbo tweak for the chip also any?just hit me up. Also post a pic of your ride.

Here's a shot of the ride. I'll keep a look out for a TA-49 on the messageboard over the winter. - how does your Wh-1 run with it?
 
Love the way it runs even with the stock d5.I also have a thdp an Hooker exhaust.

After doing some reading I think I might just do the fuel system upgrades with an alky kit and call out good for a while. Looks like I'll be able to run 22-23 pounds of boost safely with a quick spooling stock turbo for a nice street set-up. Pretty cheap route too.....
