I have two GT28 turbos powering an lt1 motor on a camaro and the way it was set up, no oil restrictors were used. These turbos are practically brand new and I am burning a lot of oil and losing a lot from oil dripping out the turbos inside of them and outside of them. I'm wondering if its too late to add restrictors to these turbos, I did not know that they did not have restrictors in the first place when a company set of the turbos. He said they were assembled with o rings, if I add the restrictors do you think the turbos will stop leaking? If not how much would a turbo rebuild to replace the seals cost?

Maybe some one from Precision Turbo will chime in.
I think Joe Lubrant would be able to help you.
You should probaly call a vendor!

Are you sure that the mounting position is not causing this problem? Is this s DYI kit?
In other words are the turbo returns below the motor oil level? If so that may be your problem.

sounds along the lines Im thinking .....

you shouldnt restrict oil flow to the turbo's

there should be no restriction on the oil drain side either the drains need to be large and the turbos need to be above oil level in the motor ...

make sure there is NO CRANKCASE PRESSURE

you didnt mention they were ball bearing turbo's

better make sure cause you dont want no restriction on a regular bearing turbo

oil pressure has nothing to do with them leaking ..the oil goes in the turbo goes thru the bearings and is no longer under pressure it just falls into the housing to drain out the bottom.

if there is any crankcase pressure it will pressurize inside the housing and push oil out

if its not draining correctly or fast enough it will get backed up in the housing and start to push out
