Hey guys,
Long story but I pulled a VB off a core I bought for a pittance awhile back.
It is marked BQ3.
It has 2 switches.
It has the numbers on the valve sleeves on the end starting with the one closest to the manual valve, going toward the other side:

17

One "under" the switch, is not numbered.

3rd one has 15

5th has F

Story is,
I bought this core from a dealership buddy who bought a motor setup from a '85 GN.
He told me it had the matching trans so i bought it sight unseen.
He brought it to me and it did not have the right servo, or case.

So I assumed it was not the correct deal.
Bought it at a lesser price for hard parts....

well i went today to pull the trans apart to disassemble the "generic" VB and compare to a BRF VB.

Just for kicks...

So here I am with this VB and wondering if I got lucky, naybe it was to orignal VB to match the GN engine, just in a different case with an incorrect Servo, or actually I guess the 85 Servo was different too....

This one had a red gov gear though....

Thanks In advance,

Jake

If memory serves correctly, you have an original '85 TR valve body. The '84/'85 BQ servos are smaller than the '86/'87 BR servos.

yep

BQ3 is a good vb to use. It is out of an 85 but will work fine with the correct govenor.
