Shane, I have a Bully Dog - Triple Dog you are more than welcome to try. I pulled it out because I had to take it in to the stealership & now I need to send it back to Bully Dog to get it to mate up to the new GM flash that is in my truck, but it will work in your truck. if you want to make some REAL power I can download the "crazy larry" tune in it & you could go ahead & get you a new tranny in just a few short pulls. give me a call if you want to borrow it to try it.

Still better than Fixed Or Repaired Daily:biggrin:
no it's Frigging Old Rebuilt Dodge

there are 2 types of diesel pick up owners in the world, ones that own a Duramax & ones that wish the did.

Shane, check out PPE's programmer. 2001-2005 Duramax LB7/LLY Economy Xcelerator [XG0105E] - $499.00 : Pacific Performance Engineering, Diesel Performance Technolgies......i second that ...... I have the PPE on my 05 Powerstroke , only programer ive ever used and set currently @80HP Program with Totaly stock exhaust with cat ( Have 5 inch in my garage to go in this weekend hopefully:D ) its a totaly different truck from stock . It goes up to 200hp (has 10 power levels , tranny shift , mph removal ) not recommended with stock tranny from what my call to PPE advised . The Duramax progams can go up to 300+ With their hot version you need to look into PPE ...........EGT gauge is a MUST no matter what you go with . P.S.... dont kid yourself you may want a mild tune with " Mileage" as the excuse to buy a programmer but your gonna want a little more sooner or later if you loved "Mileage so much youd be looking for a Toyota hybrid

I know that I fall into that category, when something happens to this truck, I'll definitely be looking at a new GM pickup. After driving my father's '06 Chevy crewcab dually with about 14,000 pounds behind it, really surprised me as to effortlessly the truck handled the load. Stock these trucks have all other brands beaten hands down, put on a power adder and these come to life.

Sure the Cummins can be turned up to make an ungodly amount of power, but when all is said and done you still have a tin can on wheels. Ford makes a nice truck, but the 6.0 and 6.4 are a joke. GM has a softer/plusher interior and has a great drivetrain, if they would just leave the exterior alone. I have driven them all, either owned personally, within the family, or at work.

SGRIM, whatever you decide to go with you won't be disappointed. Just make sure it is from a reputable company. If it were my decision, I'd seriously consider the EDGE products. Just don't get to greedy with the power, eventhough it's addictive, or it'll be new tranny time soon.

Wow some great info THANKS guys!!!!

I DO NOT want to hurt the trans. Just a little extra umph, and increased fuel milage espically while towing!

I have already towed as much weight as I ever intend to pull, the DMAX had no problem pulling it at all. It is just that when pulling my car trailers this thing drops to 8-10mpg:eek:

what do you expect when towing @ 80mph. seriously if you slow down to about 65-68 mph & add a tunner in the tow mode with your enclosed trailer I would say you will be around high 12-mid 13mpg.

 I am guilty of that!

That would be awesome. Trying to get ready for the Nats. I swear every year I will never take 40 again through the NC-TN mountains. It scares the heck out of me. A little more power up the hills would be nice...

I DO NOT want to hurt the trans.

That's the weak point of all the diesel trucks out... It doesn't matter if it's an Allison, 47RE, 48RE, or Torque Flight... Keep the programmer on a low setting. Just ask TurboIndian...

try going through it 12' wide & 120,000lbs, now that is fun. it is so funny watching the 4 wheelers eyes get as big as golf balls when they try to pass me in that stretch & you can see them looking @ the load on the trailer & the concrete wall.

Love my Dmax. I need to take some more pics since I've added painted fender flares, Esclade door handles, N-fab nerf bars, Z71 spoiler extention and an Access bed cover. Can't forget the jammin stereo, but it's about to undergo an upgrade.

Is there anything I can do to my 90 ford 450 7.3 deisel dumper to get the power and gas mileage up? when full of rock, the 7.3 has a really tough time with uphill lugs?

if your getting about 9.5-10.5 loaded with it you are about average. I have several customers with mechanics trucks like yours getting in the 10mpg area.

I have a Diablo Sport predator tuner f/s I used it on my 05 D-max it is adjustable from 40hp to 125hp works real nice and safe on the 65hp setting, I ran some 14.0's on the 125hp setting, looking to get 150+ shipping.

I have 3 7.3 powerstrokes, 1 6.0 powerstroke and a Duramax LLY. I have had 4 bully dog peices and honestly had problems with every one! Had great luck with the diablo sport predator and love my Edge. Also have a 7.3 with superchips and had no problems. Every one has a different experience, these are just mine...I will never buy another bully dog ANYTHING.

Well, I don't really agree on this...I just bought a 2008 Ford F350 with the 6.4 diesel engine and it has more than enough trailer towing power for me!!. That engine is definitely NOT a joke. As for interiors, I don't think that either GM or Dodge has an interior that even comes close to that of the Ford "King Ranch" leather interior...
