How could I convert an '85 basic regal 3.8 block, that has the 14 bolt style oil pan, to a 86-87 style block? What would be involved?
N Nick Micale Tech Advisor Staff member Joined May 26, 2001 May 28, 2002 #2 All you really need to add is a drain-back hole for the turbo which can be close to where it is on '86-7 blocks, or in the oil pan. If in the pan, no mod is required to the block. Of course you would use the '85 timing cover too.
