I have the normal dash in my car right now, but I pulled a digital dash out of an '84 Limited. Will it plug right in, or do I need a different wiring harness? Thanks.

Digital dash

I'm not sure about the installation on them. My 87 Limited has one, and i dont like because the fuel gallon numbers on the dash will sometimes fluctuate from 10........9.................10.........11and never give you a true reading. And when i first got my car, it showed 5 gallons of gas on the dash, went to start it, it just cranked and cranked and cranked for about five minutes. Then finally it tried putting 2 gallons of gas in it, and it finally started up. So now, i just fill the car up as soon as it hits 8 gallons.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen...showed 5 gallons left, and the car quit just as I was about to pull into a busy intersection. Fortunately, no one hit me. Another time it showed 3 gallons left, so I decided to fill it up....18 gallons worth:confused:.

The wiring harness is different. Also you would have to change the fuel sending unit. You would have to swap the map sensor for the hi-boost switch. There is also a speed buffer that a dig. dash must have. And the digital dash doesnt have a tach.Have you thought about a 145 mph face plate for your analog dash?Cost about $100 to have yours converted.
