i have a digital dash
right now it is stuck in kilometers per hour and i dont know how to change it over to MPH...

and is there an easy way to convert it to the NORMAL analog dash... any special speedo cable or anything?
i dont like the idea of the digital dash and i dont think it has a tach on it...

please any imput will help:D :)

Mine changes by pushing in the knob and turning it. It's not a definite thing so play with it.

You might have to push hard and I think to the right. Like I said, it's not like a definite click or anything.

It seems I wont buy a Buick unless it has the POS digital dash option. All digitals have the US/Metric conversion. The correct operation of the knob is... Push-resets the trip odometer. Turning clock wise switches between wrong(Metric) or right(American,us or US and not them). Also disconnecting the power(battery) resets the unit to a default of the metric function. About the only nice thing about a digital dash is you can see what your fuel mileage is in quarts instead of gallons. Switch it over to metric and the fuel level reads in litres. 0ne litre is about 1 quart. You catch yourself doing stupid things like" I used one quart of C16 on that last run". Of course your sending unit has to be accurate for all of this BS to work. Eric Fisher

there isnt a tach on the digy dash is there...
i like that... and i think mine is all f'd up cause the fuel thing just blinks:confused:

Nope,no tach on digital. If fuel flashes its either on empty(bone dry) or your sending unit is f'up'd. It was a trade off on intsrument clusters on the TR's. You either got a screwed up tach on the analog or a screwed up fuel gauge on the digital. Either one worked great until the warranty was up on these cars. Buicks big marketing plan, build up owner loyalty with gadgets like this and than in a couple of years scare them back to Chevy(or whatever) by making boring cars(yawn Regal GS-SC). A few other functions of the digital dash. Brightness of the LED display is controled by the interior light dimmer switch(only when park/headlamps are on). Fuel display should read "F" when full-full and than drop to the number 17,16,15... until 3,2 than "E" and than flashes "E" when really empty. Also a "-" will set when there is an open in the circuit. Speedo reads to 85 MPH and than flashes 85 when above 86 MPH. There are two boost lamps on the right side under the three displays. A yellow one which comes on at 3 pounds of boost and the red will come on at 7 pounds. The yellow light will remain on with the red light. On the left side are two more matching lights except the top one is blue and is the high beam indicator and bottom one does nothing. HTH Eric

Even if the boost and tach worked correctly on the analog gauges, they're so small you couldn't see them anyway. You're going to have to buy a boost gauge.

Eric, I don't blame you for being angry with Buick. They totally deserted us. You have to drive the lemmings favorite car to get any support from GM. I'd have a Ford first! Not a bad idea. :D

yeah i have a good VDO boost gauge but something is messed up and the boost in inaccurate i think.... 28psi??

no way

well ill just have to search for a good tach..
anybody recommend a good brand and model to me?

It's nice to have a tach for reference, but I don't use it for racing. I race in Drive and let it shift itself. Maybe someday, I'll actually need a tach for racing but for now, I just have a standard style VDO tach......nothing tricky.

what is the part number on that tach if you know it

i am sending my mom to ramchargers for me tomorow since i have to work and i have a list of like 20 part #s but i cant find a tach on their homepage...

anyone with a part #

I have a digital dash and really don't have a problem with it. the previous owned had a 199mph chip put in it so it won't flash 85, the fuel gauge isnt' very accurate untill you get down to about 10 anythign above that and i think its off, it will show F after 50 miles, and 16 after 70, and i know i dont' get 50mpg, but below 10 its pretty accurate. the display updated kindof slow, but really look at howoften you look at the speedometer anyways, i usually look at the road and knock gauge, and occasionally boost and oil pressure, once you settle at a speed it doesn't need to update too fast. the dumb boost lights look kindof cool to peopel who don't understand what a turbo is, my friends call the lights the warp speed lights, and i look at the gauge. I wouldnt' not buy a car if it has a digital dash, the analog isn't much better, yes it is better in my oppinion, but not by much, and once you add a few gauges it really doesn't matter, its whatever your more comfortable with. the only really good option is the gnx gauge, thoes are just cool...

and to switch between metric and us, just turn the screw right, like your tightening it, it will just flip back and forth, really easy to do.
