I'd like to meet up with ya'll, and any other night I could but I have to go to a darn X-mas party for my wife's work tonight....hmm Clubhouse or X-mas...dang it...who knows, we may show up anyway after the party, my wife doesn't mind that stuff.

cool, I'd say if we aren't there by midnight, we probably aren't making it. I'm sure the place will be packed. Wife thought it would be cool to go if we didn't already have this to go to, but she also said you never know once we're done with her work friends. Just found out too it the "parade of Light" around the lake tonight at dusk, so we'll be going to a party for that just down the street, then to the wife's x-mas party which starts at 7pm. So I guess I better start getting ready.

Well, I drove 20 hours round trip just to have 4 lousy Coors Lights at Dime and Vinnie's place.......and it was worth every mile! I got some really funny looks from the girls in there when they would offer a dance or whatnot and I would decline as politely as possible. It was great to see the platinum records on the walls and all.....I got a couple of t-shirts. It was both sad and prideful to see the memorial out front of all those flowers, candles, unopened beers, etc. Patrick and his peeps are good company and I'll be looking them up again next time I'm in D-town.

Nothin', it's just that I'm one'a those 'loyal to the wife' types, so it was kinda outta the question. Too bad you could not stay longer.I heard on the radio today that they are doing the official memorial service for Dime at the Arlington convention center tommorrow night.I think I will try to make it there.I wish I could have found out exactly where his house was,I know its in Arlington,but that is a big area.

I just read the announcement of that service this morning...in the same article said that he did, in fact, live in Dalworthington Gardens (just like you said). I'm sure that you could just stop into gas stations and ask "where's Dime's house?" --by the second or third try you'd likely get an answer. That was what I wanted to do Saturday afternoon, but getting lost for 2 hours kinda ate up the spare time.
Sorry we didn't make it out there to meet you guys. My wifes work x-mas party turned out to be a Chinese X-mas gift exchange with 40 people...needless to say it took a real loooong time.
BTW, Dalworthington Gardens is only about a 15 by 10 block area...very tiny little town in the middle of Arlington. If you would have got in the area, you would have found it, there's police parked at each end of the street..not to keep you out, but just to make sure no one climbs over Dime's fence as it has shown on the news a few people have done.
