i tried to give the converter the benefit of the doubt and put in another one that i had built for me....put in the new converter yesterday and the ticking noise is still there, the flair in the middle of the gears is still there, everything is still there...after all that work, money for the converter, and my time it's still not right....i'm done f*ckin' with it and it's going back to andy today ( the whole f*ckin' car ).....i have a feeling that andy is still going to point his finger at the fact that i put a converter out of another car instead of buying a new one.....the transmission that it came from in front of was clean and in a car that had been wrecked....the only thing is that now i know that it can't be the converter that came out if the trans is still doing the same thing so i figure he can't point it at that...right?

he told me that he believed that it was the converter, but if it wasn't then it might be something he did....don't get me wrong andy does a great job and is a great guy.....i just don't have the money for this sh!t right now....i'm going to be between apts. at the end of the month which means i'll be paying rent in two places in high a$$ northern virginia....man this sucks...all i want to do at this point is be able to drive the dam car without worrying about a transmission, or engine for that matter......

sounds like...

the pump to me. easy to check if you already have the trans out of the car. any extra metal particles (dust size) in the pan when you pulled it off? -Chuck

i hate to say it, but yeah there was a little metal flake in the filter. i forgot to mention that.

Hate to hear the bad news Godfrey. For what its worth I went through the same sh*t with the "infamous" flair. Hook up a tranny pressure gauge and run it WOT to see if you have any pressure loss. Until I did that, I blamed it on the valve body, as my tranny only had 1000 miles on it since the rebuild. Turned out to be a very SMALL rip in one of the internal seals causing fluid to pass by. All my 3rd gear cluthes where fried because of it. Have andy pull it and go through it.
