Is this the computer link set up that you connect a laptop to your car for tuning? It's so that you can hook a laptop up to your stock computer system, right? I'm 22, and new to the GN's honestly, and I'm trying to get my car together. I'm still waiting for the engine, and trans to be done believe it or not? I went with the cam and valve springs you people recommended. But I'm big on computer tuning ability, so I heard that this is the way? Let me know any info, and price/availiblity?

p.s Anyone have a link to that site for the rubbing alcohol injection? I've been trying to explain the concept to a friend, but he needs to see it. He's a "dub head" 16V turbo VW GTI I tell him to get a GN, but he's all about the german engineering? He works for that company IMPO performance, and when he talked to their mechanics, they looked at him like he was on crack

Please understand, as you may already, that DirectScan is a scantool. It is there for one purpose: to give you information. You won't be able to change anything with it alone. It will tell you what's going on, and you can send a file of your data to your chip maker (or learn to make your own maybe) for necessary adjustments to the chip if need be. The chip is what maximizes the power from all the engine components.

Alky injection is great stuff. Some use it on the strip, most use it for a little insurance on the street, and some don't use it at all. Don't forget that it's a consumable; it runs out pretty quick if you keep your foot in it.

Be sure and cover all your basics and protect that new engine/trans from fuel starvation, knock, cooling and oiling deficiencies. The payback will be in less downtime and aggrevation in redoing what you've already done. Good luck.
