interested in the direct scan , can you tell me what is better the direct scan or a scan master??

Depends what you are using it for. Scanmaster is good for every day use because it doesn't require a laptop; however, if you plan on going to the track or pushing the car at all then Direct Scan is far superior because it has a much higher refresh rate, more parameters and more importantly a time log. You can see pinpoint exactly when knock is happening or when other problems are occuring such as premature shifts, etc.

how hard is it to hook up to the ecm??

Pretty simple...just remove the two screws at the bottom sides of the ECM and bend off the bottom plate. Next use some finger nail polish remover to clean the glue from the connector beneath the plate you just removed and connect the blue end of the Direct scan cable.
