I have an old laptop that runs Windows 3.1 I think. Will Direct Scan work on this setup? I think Turbolink is too fancy now for this old setup but if I recall correctly Direct Scan will work in a DOS based environment? Yes/ No??

A laptop that will run Win 3.11 should work fine, but DS is best run from a DOS environment, so a bootable floppy will work best.

Have fun.

Yes, I am running DS v1.52 on an old 486 50mhz think pad. It takes a while to cycle through the displays in scope mode but it works :)

I can exit the windows to DOS and run it that way. The thing is ancient...I think it's a 386 even. Where can I get Direct Scan?

Got mine at B+M computers they used to have free shipping, all the prices for the system were the same back then too.

Not sure about now however.

With a 386 you probably won't get the full 18.1 screens per second, but it should work fine otherwise. You might want to just reformat the HD and load only DOS on it to free up some space and make it run a little faster.
