Will be installing DS this weekend. Any tips or suggestions other than what comes with the instruction book? Thanks

I would just say, clean that connector 10 times more than you think you should. Use the q-tip with fingernail polish remover, and after you do that for a long while gently scrape the glue off. Be very careful when you do that. Dont push the cable down too far on the ecm and you should be ok.

Wrap the cable between the 'box/module' and ECM in foil and ground it to the ECM housing. Conely's has a special ground wrap kit avail also as another option. Don't do this and you positively will get a code 45 thrown. Everyone I know with DS has had one and there are several threads on this here. It is truly the greatest tuning/monitoring tool made for our cars and will never run one w/o DS again.

Lee cut a couple of scraps of styrofoam to put on each side of the connector goin into the ecm, this plug for some reason doesnt like to be pushed in hard it will go nuts.put the ecm back into the holder with the styrofoam on each side of the plug to keep the plug from being pushed on .by the way where were you last weekend steve and I missed you man.I was lookin foward to seeing you.maybe we can get to muncie or meet @ edgewater before the season ends Good luck!

One thing that I found useful in cleaning the coating off is MEK(methyl ethyl ketone). It melts the stuff right off. Once that is done take some 1000 grit wet sand paper and use mek to lightly sand the contacts to make them all shiny and new. No probs here. I also have the homemade foil cover for the ribbon cable.
