DIRECTSCAN = Car dies?

I have DIRECTSCAN. I havn't used it in awhile. I used it when I got a 'Check Engine' light. When I goto plug the ribbon into the back of the computer the car dies. I tried to flip the connector over and reinstall, but the car just dies. The connections are clean, what could be the problem??

Connector in too far, connection points not clean.

I had the same problem. Salvage is right, check those 2 things. If that doesnt work, contact Chu Engineering. He sent me a cable shield for the cable that runs to the ECM. He said there is some interference between that cable and the ECM. It stopped my problem immediately.

take a toothpick, break it off to fit in the ribbon cable connector and push it down into the connector. slide it on and go.

same thing happened to me i had to turn the cable the other way, it was upside down, try one end first. should work fine after that
