I know this has been asked and answered before but I feel there might be something unusual going on with my system.

I get the "Hardware Timeout" error and have done everything that is recommended. I have been using DS for about 2 years and this one has me puzzled. DS works fine if I drive normal whether the laptop is powered through an inverter or by battery with the inverter off. However, when I make a pass at the track or testing hard on the street (either power mode), after about a few seconds on the pass, I get the error. Happens 3 out of 4 times. When I can record, battery voltage is being recorded at between 12.7 lowest to low-mid 13s normal.

Tried several laptops and just bought a new hi-quality 25-pin cable to tyr. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's a stumper Scottie.
I'm just throwing stuff out at you... Could it be a loose connection somewhere? If it only happens when you start pulling some G's :D it sounds like something is moving around.
The only time I have ever had a "Hardware Timeout" error is when the cable to the laptop came loose or the ribbon cable to the ECM got pushed in to far.

ditto to sleeper's response. Ours only did this when it had been pushed into the ecm too far, adjusted this about 2 years ago and everything is good now. Check to make sure connection is clean too, use the alcohol method and re clean your connections. or it could be the opposite not quite plugged in.
