Chris,

It all depends what you want to do,If you have the extra receiver,But you only have..Lets say a Twin LNB,Which can only supply 2 receivers with a signal.I have a Quad LNB,Then You could run 4 Receivers off of the LNB..

Say if your just looking to get the signal into another room,With no receiver....You would have to mirror the signal. You would put a satellite splitter in the cable that runs from the receiver out to your TV..Place 1 line Back onto the TV where the Receiver is,Run another line From the splitter to the TV where you want the signal...

Now whatever is on the first TV with the receiver hooked up to it,Would be also on the second TV..

Let say there is a TV with a receiver on it in the living room,You mirror a line to a TV in your bedroom,You could use a UHF Remote, turn off the living room TV...But leave the receiver on,And watch TV in the Bedroom,Controlling the living room Receiver with the UHF remote..

This is a good option for some people,Because lots of times your only watching TV in one area of the house at a time anyway..

Sorry for the long Reply,Just trying to Give you Some different Options,I saw people spend Tons of unnecessary money Configuring satellite systems.

If you have any other questions just ask..

Shawn

I'm 99% its one of the 2 reciever ones is that within the dish or what would have to be changed theres one box on the downstairs TV(reciever) and one on the upstairs TV how would I know if its a two reciever or a quad ?

ok...How about this,I will e-mail you Phone # Give me a call,And I will Help you get exactly what you need. And how to tell what equipment you have..

If you buy a 3rd receiver,And Dont have a quad LNB,Dish Network will want to charge you I believe $169.00 for the LNB..If you dont want to mirror one of your 2 existing receivers, you will need a quad to go with the 3Rd receiver..

You can only tell by actually taking the LNB off of the dish,2 Phillips Head screws,Just pull it away from the arm of the dish a little,See if the wires that are there are taking up all the ports...If you have 2 Receivers,And 2 open ports on the LNB,You have yourself a quad.No open ports,You have a twin,And will need a quad to to go with any more receivers...

HTH...Shawn

The dish is WAY up on the roof why I dont know no clue how I would get up there - I'll see if there is an easy way next weekend (I'm in NY house is in the Poconos)

Shawn,PM me your phone number,I have Dish Network[have had it for 8 years]. I pay for two recievers,I want to add one more. What do I need to do? PS, my dad can reprogram direct tv cards[ssshhh],so....go with one more Dish system,or go with the piratred direct TV ?

I checked out the house this weekend - the whole house has in the wall cable jacks and the downstairs tv and the upstairs tv are both connected into separate jacks with boxes and the dish network works - shouldnt I get some kind of signal on the other jacks- wouldnt they be all connected in sequence like the telephone or electricity?? I tried the one in the other bedroom (no box and I got no signal or reception at all
