I feel like a retard for even posting in this thread, but its a monte carlo based drawing. The grill isn't supposed to "resemble" any particular car, rather its given its shape to give the car character.

You are!

Its called artistic license. Actually if you look at all of the cars they are "charactures" of real cars.

On my way to scope out the babes at the movie theatre.

Yeah, probably lots of babies at that movie for you to scope out. Oh, you said babes. Tell me you're going to see this movie and expect chicks to not laugh at you?

I'm half kidding, and of course they are based on real cars. Why waste time thinking up car designs when they are already there?

Just got back from the movie. It was great!!! I'm now thinking the car is a Buick. The Monte Carlo was an anouncer at the race in the movie. I think the Monte was Darrel Wartrip? Not sure but great movie!!!

I took my 4yr and 12yr olds to the movie Saturday. What a riot! We were laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! Yes, it's an instant classic in my opinion.

I was able to catch at least 3 NASCAR identities
Richard Petty - The King
Darrel Waltrip - announcer
Jr. - the #8 car
There were also some Indy celebrities making cameo voices as well.

Forgot to catch the credits as Pixair was making fun of themselves at the end. I'll have to get that one on DVD.

The tractor tipping was the best. I never laughed so hard!! :D

I'm being bad this morning instead of working. I have been checking out the Cars web site to find out who voiced the characters.

The before mentioned, but also:
Larry the Cable guy - Mater the tow truck
Paul Newman - Doc Hudson
George Carlin - the VW van
Cheech Marin - the painting low rider
Michael Keaton - the 86 car pictured above
John Ratzenberger - (of course) The rig hauler
Owen Wilson - McQueen

What a lineup!

The tractor tipping was halarious! I liked the expressions on the pit crew of 86 when McQueen got that last pit stop in about 4 seconds! Thier grills fell off! LOL!

Little Guido !! He was the best aside from Mater . The pit stop was good, Guido kicked @ss. Even when they put the old style white walls and wheels on McQueen. I think the one saying was " float like a Cadilac, sting like a Beemer". Everyone must go see this movie!!!

It was a great movie for anybody that likes NASCAR or cars in general. The animation backgrounds at the speedway, neon lights in Radiator Springs, etc. were amazing.

Do it.
Now.
I'm married w/ child. The movie was very good - you need to stay all the way through the credits(even after they are done) - but all I have to say is Wow! That was a long movie! I'm glad we didnt try to take our 16 month ould - there were 4 year olds that werent making it though thte moive!

Don't feel 'tarded', it's an excellent movie. You should read some of the discussions that go on in the Political forum. Those guys are evil cut throats (and I will probably get bashed for saying so). I can't follow them. But, that's what these forums are all about, open discussions on any topics. Good that we have a media where this can happen, typically without reprocussions.

Yes, the more often the better.

Look at his passenger head light letters (HTB), stands for (HOT TURBO BUICK), just a thought ;).

I loved the Jay Leno and The Governers(Arnold) car bodies..lol

It's a Buick....

Loved the Green Turbobuick in the Movie Cars!! Just seen it today with my 5 year old, and what a great movie!!!!

Ebert said Lightning is a car called the Lola from the 60's. Online it was some chasis company that eventually got the GT40 off the ground for Ford.

I guess he is a Lola with hints of the GT40.
