Just recieved my TurboLink today :) Thank You!

When I connect to the vehicle, the dashboard screen is distorted (how big or small screen I use). It´s even distorted when I replay the data. It´s also distorted when I replay it on my other PC.

What´s causing this? The laptop is a Compaq Presario 2147 @ 1024*768*32. The other is a Dell Dimension 8200 @ 1280*1024*32

I´ve tried different resolutions, and also installed VehPak_6, but it doesn´t help.

Anyone had the same problem?

/Andreas

EDIT: I´m running Win XP on both the computers.

But the same problem on two different computers with two different installations. It´s not the same version of DirectX on them.

Try going to SETTINGS -> APPLICATION and then see what the screen resolution is set to.

Set it to 640x480 as a starting point and see what's happening?

Otherwise, we need to see what's in the PC configuration that might be doing something. TurboLink isn't using the DirectX libraries or anything exotic for the application, so we'll have to do some investigation...

The screen is set to 640x480. I can´t find a way to change it. I really don´t get this problem.

What else do You need from me?

/Andreas

Are you running the language setting in Swedish?

Try setting it to English ... seems that some other language settings use some 32 bit characters (vs. the standard ASCII set) and the controls don't understand that.

It needs to run on the English language setting.

OK, this thread (http://www.turbo-link.com/discus/messages/331/247.html?1050242450) has the same symptoms from a European customer and here was the final resolution:

I've got TL to work on all my PCs.

It was the national settings in the controlpanel.
I would guess that is is hove to do with decimalpoint (we use decimalcomma in Sweden)or maybe the thousandsdelimiter ( US=, SWE=non)

Anyways, case closed!

Now I can't wait to connect to my boxy.

We use XML files for the configuration files (it defines the datastream AND the screens) and if the decimal point is wrong or the character's aren't interpreted correctly, the screens go NUTS!

Oh! So that´s what´s the problem. I only checked the keyboard settings, but not the standard and format. Now it works great.

I´ve tried the forum on t-l.com, but have had problems to get there, and also with the link You attached (server could not be found).

Thank You very much for Your help.

/Andreas

Glad we could help! :)

The site seems to be difficult for some people to get to occaisonally. I'm thinking it may be due to the ISP's firewall blocking DNS requests at times.

We're looking to change providers in the next month or so...
