Paypal used to notify SteveC when there was a credit in his account.

Key words, used to.

Steve hadn't seen any notifications, and just thought things were finally settling down. A couple days ago he just happened to check his account and found $900 that was just sitting there.

He making every effort to catch up.

Thanks for the info. Exactly why I was curious, stuff happens.

That's funny about Steve not knowing about all the parts kits orders. It's gonna take him some time to catch up. Someone else can have my kit when it gets here. I just ordered all the parts direct from Digikey. It ended up costing $33, mainly because lots of the parts you need one of (mostly resistors) had a minimum order of 5. So I'm going to have lots of extra resistors.

Bruce, I understand about the paypal situation, makes sense. My question is still a valid one though, I mailed a CHECK to the address on the website on 2/27. I have tried to get ahold of Steve myself with no luck. I'm assuming that you have either another way of getting a hold of Steve, or a different e-mail than the one posted. Could you please verify if my check was indeed received?? If it was, I'll wait for my parts to arrive. If it has been lost in the mail, I will gladly send a second time, or use paypal. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Mike Jones

TerryK : I was under the impression it would cost $50 for the parts from digikey... Thanks for the correction, this is a viable solution now..

Bruce: Thanks for the update!! (Why didn't you just say this in the first place?).. so $90 is 90 kits... from the www.diy-wb.com website it didn't sound like he had much more than that many kits left..

Can you confirm that he is currently able to supply more than the kits already paid for??

If this is possible, I will send the paypal to SteveC's account ASAP and wait patiently.. (sounds like 100 kits should be doable in a month or so if he already has the parts right?)

Thanks Bruce ;)

(PS: a great idea would be to setup a yahoo groups mailing list for those interested in the parts kits.. then SteveC could just send ONE post to the list.. updating the progress,etc.. that is all people want when sending money.. he can state he has no time to answer questions,etc.. and I'm sure others on the list will be able to answer newbie questions anyways.. just a thought..??)

UPDATE from Steve Ciciora...

All the diy_wb list members got an e-mail from Steve saying that basically he was sorry for missing the PayPal orders...he's working on filling those..and that he has decided to do another GP for approx. 230 more kits.

He said to be patient, but in the next few days he'll let us know the details on the new batch of parts kits.

?

Will Steve or someone notify us on the board about the group purchase?

I did send him $5.45 for a controller pcb though ...

haven't heart anything as result..

You propably won't hear from Steve on this board, but Bruce, myself or some of the other turbobuick.com/diy_wb listers will try to keep you guys "in the know".

I didn't realize that Steve C. was selling the PCB boards. I got mine from Bob Valentine.

See my reply above w.r.t. ordering boards. The boards haven't really been the hard part to get....it's been the demand for the parts kit that Steve has been trying to satisfy. I can't imagine what it's like to fumble around with all those little electronics components making up kits....he's put together HUNDREDS of kits already.

We just need to be patient. And don't forget....there is a xls spreadsheet already available on www.diy-wb.com that has all the components listed WITH the Digikey p/n's if you don't want to wait. There is a construction guide for building and testing the board on the site also ("dummy's guide")

A lot of work has gone into this thing....but tempers have flared from time to time. We all need to keep it in perspective.

Good Luck,
John

What have i done?!? ;)

This whole post has probably generated much more demand for this device considering how many people have viewed it already.

The world is not a perfect place. There will always be individuals trying to make money in watever way they can. This device should have been patented or sumthing. Money for the patent could have came from sales of his kits.

Just a thought.:)

Got my parts from Digikey already. The sensor plug I ordered from the Oz Australian site. Should have this thing together shortly.

Well.. a friend and I have ordered two PCB's from Bob.. and have checked on the sensors ($120 US from www.partsbin.com.. had 42 in stock apparently..).

Anybody find the sensors cheaper?

We are thinking we will just buy the parts from Digikey now (unless Bruce/others have an update on Steve??).. it'll probably be 2-3 times more than the GB.. but we wanna get up and running fast..

Those that already have the setup.. what/where did you get the connector for the sensor itself... the pages mentions finding it on non-lean burn cars... any idea which ones?

Are they available from the Honda dealer?

Thanks

PS: Anybody buy that DataQ datalogging trial kit yet?? I'm thinking of getting that too... :p

Bruce:

Does anyone make a converter box that will convert the WB signal voltage to a narrow band signal voltage?? The reason for asking is that way I could read the WB output on my DS and Scanmaster. Also the ECM would be receiving the signal from the WB instead of having to retain the narrow band O2.

I do not thank that the making of such a unit will violate the DIY-WB agreement.

I will appreciate your comments/input.

You can do anything you want with the DIY-WB as long as you share it.

If you want to use it with DS, then you'll have to run an open loop chip. the stock ecm is looking to a switching type sensors input.

You could take the WBs output and used it for both making a switching type O2 signal for the ecm, and then use another signal generator, and feed that into say the IAT. And them 0 out the IAT corrections.

Anybody get their parts kit yet?? STILL have not been able to get a reply if my check was received!!
