I'm having trans problems so I checked my fluid and it seemed overfilled by quite a bit. I checked the car's manual and it noted the two pinholes where the fluid level should be when the car is cold. I rechecked mine and noticed my stick did not have these two holes. So, perhaps I have a different stick alltogether. When I think back, I swear I remember someone telling me I had the wrong one, either when I bought the car, or when I had the trans flushed. Anyway, perhaps my fluid level is correct, but I don't know since it may be the wrong stick. Where can I get the right dipstick?

Thanks,
Jeff

i don't have any pin holes in my dip stick either and i'm pretty
sure its the original. how are you checking your fluid? the
car must be running and the trans must be up to operating
temperature.

Hmm, if you check the manual, look at the picture of the dipstick...you'll se it there. This is for a 1987.
I actually didn't have the car running, but I drove it around unti lhot and meanusre it right when I shut it off... would it make a big difference if I remeasure with it running?

Automatic tran's are supposed to be measured with the engine idling
