i had a bov on my car and it was stayed at 128 at idle, but when you give it light throttle at low rpms it falls to 105 then jumps to 115. when i let go of the throttle it goes back to 128 and stays. full throttle stayed at 128. I thought it was the bov opening up at low rpm causing this. so i swapped the uppipe w/the stock one.

w/o the bov its 128 at idle. still goes down to 105 at light throttle.if i give it medium throttle it goes to about 135 and full throttle is 128. cruising at 60 it stays at 129.

is it normal for it to go to 105 at low rpm low throt? o2s are anywhere from 80-800 at low cruise. cc climb fine at cruise but stop at idle sometimes. i guess the bov wasnt causing it so i might put it back on. im just learnin how to tune now, i just got my scanmaster acouple days ago. thanks for the help.

im using a thrasher 92 chip. 30lb injectors. fp is 43 line off. maf is remanufactured ac delco(works good). readings for maf is 6 at idle and 255 at wot.
is running 105 bl at light throttle bad for the motor?

Nope on the 105 question.

Don't know a thing about Thrashers so I can't help you there.

Seems at light throttle you are a bit rich but not bad at WOT and cruising.

I wouldn't worry much about it if the car runs ok. :)

What you're seeing is quite common and nothing really wrong. You have to remember that the blm's aren't really "jumping around" as they would appear. You see those different numbers because there are 16 individual blm cells, and different ones are accessed for different "conditions". There are a couple of cells that are used during light load cruise conditions, one for heavy-WOT conditions, and one or two (depending on rpm) for idle conditions, etc.
The reason you see a nice perfect 128 at idle is because the Thrasher chips use open loop idle, and lock the idle cells to 128 (nice for that smooth silky idle, but impossible to use for troubleshooting a problem).
It also locks the "high cell" to 128 during hard acceleration.

It's fairly common in many situations to see the cruise cells drift down in the low 100's. Nothing wrong with it.

i tried reading the blm segment on gnttype. it was way over my head. maybe one day i will understand.

um, my BLM's are around 105 at idle iwth my thrasher 92 chip...is my ECM shot???

Just indicates one of three possibilities.

1. It's not a true Thrasher, but rather a knock-off.

2. Someone has removed the open loop idle feature.

3. You let the ecm learn the cells, and then installed the thrasher without reseting the ecm. It uses what was learned last, if you don't reset the ecm then the idle cells will always read what they learned before the thrasher install (if not reset).

another thing could be it is not in the upper left BLM cell (as seen on DS) and is in another cell at idle. Mine normally doesnt idle in the first cell.

Dave, now that i'm thinking of it...the battery was out of the car like 2 weeks ago so the 3rd theory is out...

i guess i'll try another thrasher chip.

Look at MAF number. At idle mine usually shows 4-5 gps and is in blm Cell 0. If the MAF gets up to 6 gps at idle, it is enough to jump to blm Cell 1.

the cell doesn't really matter that much, it'll either be idling in cell 0 or cell 1, they're both idle cells. Problem is, the thrasher goes into "open loop idle" at anything below 9mph. so it doesn't really car what cell it's looking at, the INT will go to 128 and this should not allow any changes in the cells that are being access at the time. So if the ECM were reset all cells would be 128, and the cells that the engine sees when going into open loop idle should never be allowed to change.

His obviously are changing some how. Sump'n not right there.
