I think many people remember that offset hood scoop being for the turbos of the late second gen Trans Ams.
I have heard many people calling the same style hood on the thirdgens turbo scoops. Since the thirdgens were to recieve the Pontiac 301 turbo before GM nixed the idea, and went corporate power.
Maybe that's what they meant by it.
