Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum, and to turbo Buicks. I just bought a fairly stock car, with an upgraded turbo and 50 lb injectors. From what little I have read on this site it sounds like my injectors may be too big. Any ideas?

Turbonetics stage 3 turbo, Kenne Bell headers, down pipe, exaust, Spearco FMIC, MSD 50# injectors, MAFT, GNX coil pack, Taylor spark plug wires, Methanol injection kit, Greedy boost controler, knock gauge, GNX dash gauges, cold air intake, intercooler hard pipe kit, camshaft

Here are the mods the guy listed for the car. I am trying to get a Buick expert to come look at the mods to see what he thinks. But, I would like yall's opinion as well.

Nothin wrong with 50s as long as the chip is burned for them. They are actually pretty well matched to that combo
 
Did GNX have a different coil pack? Pics of car by the way.:)

I wondered that myself, I do not know. I will post pics when I have 5 post. Well....10 feet pics :cool:, car needs a little work.

Nothin wrong with 50s as long as the chip is burned for them. They are actually pretty well matched to that combo

I do not know about the status of a chip. There is a controler of some kind in the engine bay, but the owner did not fully explain what it did.

That controller is just a MAF translater. It allows you to use a LT1 or LS1 Maf sensor in place of the stock unit. It has some adjustable parameters in it as well.
 
Car looks good and welcome to the board. The MAFT is the you listed is what you showed in the pic and what Russ explained. Some other nice parts on there and i'm sure other board members will chime in with some feedback. Also if you look around in the Hot Air forum of the mesage board you should find out alot about you car since that part is specially for the pre 86-87 TR's. How many miles on the car and what'd you pick it up for if you don't mind me askin?

Thank you. The car has 80k, and I got it in trade for a '95 3000GT.

I am also a little confused on the Greedy boost controler and the scanmaster.

The way he explained them they seem to surve the same purpose.
 
Combo seems ok... I would just fully understand your scanmaster before you go beating on it....it is there to keep you out of trouble..

finally got outside today to look the car over -

it has an electric fan and V8 radiator, custom duel exhaust (with a cut out that is not covered), also found an email from previous owner (I am guessing the original owner) saying it has a 2800 stall

I am still not sure on the cam specks
 
welcome aboard. learn the scanmaster. above all else your looking to see if the car is pulling timing due to detonation. its the first screen it starts at before you toggle thru the other readings. if you see knock get out of the gas. and you might want to get a chip for it so you atleast know where it came from. keep posting with what you find
 
2 SMALL blue hoses that run to that pump... is that a diy alky kit? It appears so with the small hose leading to it, just wondering.

Baby steps and it will last 10 years with no major breaks, take your time and learn more about these cars and how everything is set up, appears like some good stuff was done to it already.


Can i stress take your time with it :)
