does oil resistant mean gas resistant?

i need to know, although that i am not using this on my TR i am using this on a 'go-kart' that i am building. i am trying to make a gas tank and it has to be gravity fed. so i am taking a 1 liter soda bottle that i am going to be using to make as a tempory gas tank. so what i was wondering is i need to make a good seal so it dosent leak from where the gas is being pulled out of the bottle. so i was wondering if i use high tempature copper sealer if that will make a good enough seal. on the directions of the sealer, it says oil resistant.

what i was wondering is will this be ok to use in a bottle of gas?

thanks for the help

why not use a metal container and jb weld it into place?

what if you flipped it and the gas tank ripped open, then you would be burned from the ignited gasoline!!!!

what would i make it out of metal? i dont have very good metal fabrication skills, and i was going to use a one liter bottle that my moms seltzer water comes in. i dont think it will exactly rip apart if i flip it... but you never know...

Look on the RTV label. Most say should not be immersed in gasoline. If yours says so, I wouldnt do it.

What size gas lines do you need? You could buy a plastic 1/2 gal plastic gas can and mount 90 deg off so that the air nipple is at the bottom and use that for the line. Just pop on some tubing and clamp down. Gas tank is also more sturdy than a soda pop bottle.
