SignUp Now!The more you port it the more the backpressure can act on the wastegate. If you want to run the turbo up near it's max potential the hole will need to be smaller. I've never needed to be over 1.1" on anything of my own. Even the 6265 that everyone else says needs a huge external gate with a big hole. I left the hole untouched and internal gate with heavy sprung actuator and no problems.
I never have boost creep. Boost fall off with some turbos that are out of breath. If you're getting boost creep that you can't get under control and the hole is more than 1.1" you probably have the wrong turbo for the application.Sweet6 said:I found that to be true to. Smoothing out the ridge on the WG hole makes a huge difference. At least as far as keeping boost creep under control.

You might want to check your new down pipe. I had the same issue on a chinese made pipe. It was not the wastegate. Who ever made my pipe only cut a dime-sized hole in the main pipe where the exhausted gas from the wastegate goes. I had to cut my pipe up and make the hole bigger. I have serious boost control now. Can get to as low as 14lbs with a 6262Mine is as pictured. Otto said he ported it. I don't have boost creep it just goes to 27psi and sits there.
I guess my main issue is I got a new external DP, new precision WG, XFI 2.0 with boost control that goes to a nice solenoid and I can't control the boost.
My friend has the exact same set up with the same spring and his is controllable.
