Is there supposed to be this black gunk on them? Is it some sort of lubricant? ALso....which one of these is the fuel pump relay? I'm trying to jump it to pump out the old gas and I read that the middle on is it...but when I jump it with a wire..the fan comes on???

neither , you are on driverside , those are fan relays

fuel pump relay is on passenger side

doesnt matter anyway you dont use fuel pump relay to power pump

behind the alternator by the ac lines are two plugs one is tach te other is fuel pump prime
, unplug your hood lamp ( blk /orn stripe wire) and plug it into the plug that fits (fuel pump is one with the female spade end ) and pump will run

Thanks. I just tried that and nothing happened. I plugged the orange/blk wire from the light into the unused wire just behind the alternator and nothing happened.
I left the valve stem off of the schrador valve conntected to a hose and tried starting it and just a little bit of gas spurted out. I'm just trying to drain my tank is all. is there an easier way?

did your underhood lamp work?

if not just run a short jumper from post at back of alternator to the fuel prime wire
racetronics hotwire pump kits come with a fuel tank drain wire its just short length of wire with aligator clip at one end female spade at other , really isnt anything simpler or easier to drain tank

where is the fuel pump wire? Got any pics so I can compare? I just got almost all of the gas out the old fashioned way (hose and pump). Now I'm trying to get the fuel filter off since I can't really take the tank off without someone helping.

fuel prime wire is the wire right behind alternator

HUH...what does the fuel filter have to do with dropping the tank?

nothing. I did that to look at my pump, clean the old gas out, wash out the tank and clean it. I am replacing all the rubber on the car and since I have a fuel prb I might as well start there.

Yeah I thought so. It's just messy nasty stuff. It didnt look like there could be a connection with that stuff caked on there.
