I think I seen it on ebay within the last few months also.
Not sure about the history, wouldn't hurt to ask questions and find out before accusations, etc. Not picking on you, I seen something about this car on another board and they were noticing a lot of the parts too. Who knows it is 20 years old, a lot could have happened. Looks like somebody cared enough to put some time into it and the paint. If everything is legit, looks like a decent buy.

Wow, Given this much evidence sure looks like you guys may be right about the tag switch. Somewhere there is probably a real 84 with 87 tags or was junked, etc. This thing spent alot of time in Utah to all the sudden end up in Rhode Island, not to mention the number of recent owners and how short they had the car. It's as if they found out about it and got rid of it.
Guess you would have to get down to the frame and all the other places to check the rest of the numbers, sure their wrong as you have already suggested.

Tag job for sure, no one does THAT much to an 84, not with Lowrider paint, and a turbobuick engine, Hell no! Be careful!!!

This car looks very familar to me....

Looks fishy to me. My car is an '85 and I did the conversion on mine about 6 years ago. This is what I see:

1. It has the 3rd brake light (not on '84s) also has the correct rear window for the 3rd brake light (look at the rear defroster, they go around the light.)

2. Car has an '86-'87 Heater box.

3. Of course, all the interior.


If this car legit, they did a hell of a job doing a conversion on it. Looks like they didn't miss a thing. I'd like to see a picture of the fuel lines in the rear where the '86-7 fuel filter is.
