Well that was really stupid of that guy, he would have had a better chance standing in front of a moving garbage truck.

His arm is TOAST gone see you later, you will see him in about a year with a hook for a arm.

My understanding is that its not that they really wait its that as soon as they feel something on their tongue they snap their mouth shut (Discovery channel rules!!). I saw basically the same thing on tv only the guy stuck his head in the crocs mouth and of course the croc clamped down on his head. They think a bead of sweat dropped onto the crocs tongue which it sensed as lunch time.

Agree. His big mistake was his approach was too low and he touched the tongue. If he would have taken his sweet time and went dead center he probably would still have the arm.
