Door chime question

Getting ready to fix a bunch of neglected issues I've had with my car over the years. My t type is an 86. Do all of our cars come factory with a door chime? If so then mine has never worked as long as I've owned the car. If so where is it located etc? Thanks, Luke

The chime modules were notorious for going bad early in life. Many were just unplugged and removed. The reside up under the dash between the steering column and radio. About the size of a pack of cigarettes.
