Door Skins

Anybody know a ballpark number of what is costs to reskin doors? Assuming I already have the doorskins.

Are the doors off the car? Are the doors apart? Do you want it painted afterwords? To just reskin the door its about a 2 hr job. But if the doors are still on the car and still all together. It will be considerably more. Hourly rates vary from town to town but the average rate is around $65.00 an hour.

The doors are still on the car and complete.

Add another 5 hrs per door. Total of 2 hrs per door to do the actual reskin, Then the 5 hrs per door for the rest and another $200.00 for paint materials. Total would be 14 hrs at a shoprate of around $65.00 per hr. your looking at around $1100.00. Give or take.

You can find them, but you are looking at $200-$250 per skin. Then plus a LOT of labor it sounds like. Probably cost $1K a door when it is all said and done.

Getting one done right now
5.5 labor time + paint time & materials.

Skins are hard to find, I bought mine about a year ago "just in case"...well the time came.

There was someone in parts for sale who had 2 for 500.00...good price

It would be cheaper to put a set of rust free doors on.....

This is the case more often than not.

I've found (and in my particular case) if your skins are rusted, the door frame will also be shot.

It's easier & cheaper to find a good set of solid doors than it is to skin your old ones.
