When i got my car about 2 months ago, i noticed that the area around the door striker was cracking. i went to a few welding shops and they wanted between $100-$200 to reinforce it and fix it. i didnt have the money and kind of forgot about it. today i looked, and i cant eventell whats still holding it on!! it looks like its jst floating there! i saw the reinfovcement plates on kirbans website, will these fix this? im just asking because mine are so bad that if i even tried to take it out of the pillar, i think it would just break off. what should i do????

Not having seen your damaged area, no one can truly say.

Can tell you we installed new strikers from GM, & the striker reinforcement plates from Kirban, as a preventative measure.

It's solid as a rock now! :)

HTH

I used the reinforcement plates on a striker that had busted COMPLETELY out. They worked like a charm.
Put them on both sides whether needed or not. Great prevention for a bad problem.

Hey ,,I bought the Elemantal D sub off ebay ,,,thanks ..
Do you have pics of these brackets from Kirbans...

PICS OF PLATES

The plates are part number 6774 on the Kirban website, in the "Body" section of the catalog.

HTH :)

It's just an 1/8th inch piece of metal cut to shape (to fit the raised part of the jamb) and black powder coated.

Just buy them, they're cheap and work great.

What Elemental? Flat piston I hope...the older ones aren't bad but the flat pistons are much better. Send me a link to the auction, you NEVER see those on e-bay...I'd be curious to see it.
