Im looking at a shaved door handle kit that comes with one 50lb solenoid for each door. I have a 87 GN with power windows, power locks, and remote mirrors. Does anyone know if 50lb solenoids will be enough for each door?

The 50lbs. refers to the amount of pull the soleniod has to pull on the door latch mechanism not how heavy the door is. But I think you will need door poppers to "pop" the door open after the soleniod releases the the latch. Also I think you're suppose to remove the lock mechanism so you can't lock your door release remote inside the car . My son shaved his door handles on his S10 Extreme and they work great! Sam

I won't be doing racing, but DEFINATELY good to know. And if someone is willing to help id appreciate loacating a part number from summit or other source with everything needed to complete shaved handles. THAT WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED. Reason being the kits i've found at summit don't say anything about door poppers or everything needed to accomplish that, and maybe I missed it in the description. With that said if any body guys or guys who have done it before can give part numbers and how well they worked for them. LIKE I SAID, I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO RESPONDS.

Google "door poppers" and you will find anything you need to shave those door handles

The stock doors are pretty heavy. I would guess between 75-90 lbs
