doors not unlocking all the way

UPDATE:
I pretty much have done everything i could do to trouble shot this lock think. i cleaned the latch and lubed up everything. ran 12 volts straight to the lock actuator from the battery. it has to be the actuator. its less then 2 years old and i never use it cause it never worked. has anybody have problem with MOTORMITE brand

I have a 1987 Buick GN and the passenger side door would not unlock when using the lock switch, the lock button would come up but not high enough to unlock, I would have to pull up on it to open the door. As long as the door lock buttons are moving up and down when activated then the problem is with the linkage. I just fixed mine today. I sprayed WD40 on the door lock and all the pivot points of the linkage. I then made the rod running vertically from the actuator to the pivot on the door longer by taking out one of the bends making it longer. and then I shortened(bending it) the rod running horizontally from the door lock to the pivot point on the door.
