Downpipe clearance to evaperator case???

Hey guys, My TA headers moved my turbo just a bit, my question is how much clearance is safe between the downpipe and the blower/evaperator case?? I just dont want to melt or burn anything! Thanks for the info, Ryan

Mine is about 3/16" to 1/4" there with the lower part of the heat shield cut off.

Never been a worry compared to lots of other stuff that's for sure.

The shield covers half of the lower portion of the box, my pipe sits about half under the shield and half under the box itself, its probabally between 1/4 and 1/2 inches clearance, just dont wanna cause a fire or melt the box!!

I don't think you will have a problem. :smile:

If my shield wasn't trimmed on the bottom, (many take it off completely), it would interfere slightly with the pipe and cause false KR.

Since you have clearance over both the shield and the box, the shield can still do it's job and you should be way better off than most people.
