I am jsut wondering if any of you guys have ahad any experience with the kirban 3" downpipe. The price seems good and i am on a budget so it seems like it is a deal. What are peoples thoughs on this downpipe ??

Thanks

In My Opinion...

If you are running slower than 110 mph, spend your money elsewhere. I know there are people going even faster with the stocker. I usually don't put a DP on until we do a larger turbo upgrade.

I also suggest waiting until you can afford a THDP. Both the function and quality is better. The 2-piece Kirban DP is known to leak.

Hope that helps some, again just my .02!

NCTURBOS is right. save your money and buy a Terry Houston downpipe. I don't know if Kirban's uses the stock elbow but if it does then you will still have a HUGE exhaust restriction coming out of the turbo.

I installed the Kirban downpipe a few weeks ago and am pleased with the results. It does use the stock elbow but I plan on porting it this winter. So far it hasn't leaked at all and I picked up 4 tenths in the 1/4, but I have a new exhaust also. This is a complete bolt on system so you won't have to cut the turbo shield and it still looks completely stock. It is a two piece pipe but can be welded if you want to go that route. Installation wasn't a problem either but I had the tools to port the cat. I have been upgrading on a budget so that was the deciding factor. It can be polished if you want to take the time to do so. Eventually I will go with a bigger turbo and will probably a different downpipe, but for now it works for me. I guess it really depends on your budget and how far you want to take your TR.

I have a Postons DP, which is almost the same, and the fit and finish is nowhere near that of a THDP. BUT ITS $250 CHEAPER. I upgraded because my stocker went to sh** on me. I does spool faster and I gained about 1mph. So unless you HAVE to get something else, I would keep the stocker. But if you need something and dont want to shell out $500, they are not too bad.

The hardest thing is keeping them from leaking near the elbow. My has a small leak, but I cant hear it so I dont worry about it too much
