After the car warms up maybe after a 1/2 hour or so of driving this occurrs.
When going 40+ mph and slow down to make a turn the tranny stays in 3rd or 4th and won't downshift. So when I come out if the turn an start to accelerate in bogs the engine down, then I have to punch it and then it downshifts and goes. The fluid is clean and not burnt, I can't remember if I ever had it serviced. I never really raced the car that much and if anything it has had a pretty easy life so far.
I don't know the first thing about transmissions but I am very mechanically inclined and not afraid to fix anything. If it is something that a pro has to do would I be alright taking it to a recommended tranny shop who won't rip me off. Or should I drive an hour or two to someome who has worked on TR's before and recommended by our TR car club.
