This may not be the correct forum but here goes:
How do you guys operate a computer when you record runs w/ TL or any scan tool using a pc?
IE. where do you put the computer so it doesn't get thrown off the seat when you hit the finish line? Do you just set the parameters to start recording and then close the lid and go?
What is the sequence that you do all this?
I don't want my new computer to go flying off the seat or anything.

What are you guys doing for this? Thanks

paul

i just put my laptop on the passenger seat facing me...it doesn't move whatsoever...it's a pretty heavy laptop though since it was made in like 1997 ;)

Same here. On DS there are about 5 different ways to trigger record mode. You can do it by TPS which is probably the best, along with several other automatic ways to trip it as well as manually doing it with the space bar. I don't slam on my brakes at the 1/4 mile line so it stays right where I put it.

I use Tlink with laptop(on pass seat facing me) and power inverter...I bring up Tlink but don't connect to ECM and leave it that way in the staging lanes...when ready fire the car up and connect Tlink to ECM...do burnout...trip first light...hit ENTER on PC to start recording...trip second light...take off on green...at the end of 1/4 mile...slow down easy...hit F3 for Quick-Save then ENTER to stop recording...this is with TLINK 3.0...if you're worried about the PC flying off the seat I've seen some hold it in the seat with the seatbelt...

Ditto on the laptop riding shotgun with the seatbelt on. I used to try to make the "first return road" so the laptop needed to be belted in.
