How do you guys heat up drag radials at the track?
I heard that you shouldn't pull in the water. I have nitto
DR , best 60'=1.82, at 8psi boost with foot brake. I've seen 1.5-1.6 posted. Are BFGs better?
Thanks,
Chris

I had 275/60/15 nitto drag radials at 13 psi in the tires i would back into the water box then pull forward and do a pretty heavy burnout get that smoke going i did a best of a 1.83 when i tried to do a dry hop burnout i got the worst wheelhop ever during the burnout

I always go around then back in. I don't back into the "standing" water, but where I can see the pavement is wet.

Also,do you guys experience "flat spots" on DR or slicks when the
car sits over a period of time?My Nittos never did,I put BFG DR
on and bad vibration until they warm up!( never got a chance
to run the BFGs at the track) I am thinking of running slicks
all the time, but think the "flat spots"would be worse

Flat spots are common in ANY tire that has sat. It will round back out on use...unless the cords shift...

Try 20psi in the tires (Nitto's). Might do better for ya. Too low and they buckle in the cnter. You need to play and find the press giving you the best contact patch and 20-21 give me the most uniform burnout...whole patch the same darkness. 15 was lighter in the moddle, 25 was lighter on the sides, but I have a trunkload of stereo ****, maybe your car will like a diff pressure.

My times are in the sig. I have a 275/50 Nitto. What worked best for me was a big burnout. Track guy usually backed me a couple feet into water, then pulled me forward until i was almost out of it. Whenever I tried saving some rubber and did a small or medium burnout, I would get 2.xx 60'.
