Now that M&H and Mickey Thompson are making DR's we have more choices. I have Nittos on the Corvette and they work well as a street tire. I'm looking for a good hooking street tire, have slicks for the track. I went thru a set of ET Streets in about 100 mi, and they make the car handle like a Freightliner, so not interested in the "cheater slick" type tire. Anyone have experience with the M/T's or M&H's?

Thanks...

I have the 275/60/15 MT's. They hook great on the street and the track. However, they will not give you an estimate on how many miles you will get out of them..They have only tested them on the track. Based on the tread design, they are not going to be great at "funneling" water IMO..

For an weekend warrior, looking to take the car to the strip or crusie around on dry days..they are awsome though.:D

I have the 275/60/15s on my car also. They seem to work good, but require a pretty hefty burnout. They have about 2k or so miles on them and look like they have a few left. I got caught in 2 downpour monsoon style rains with them but as long as I stayed out of boost and drove like granny, they were okay.

I got caught in snow with mine and they worked damm good, they are almost like an "aqua tread"...lol

Not sure what brand drag radial your refering to?

The M/T ET Street drag radials DO NOT require a long burnout. All they need is a quick hazingf and stage. I do a 2-3 shift burnout that is 5 seconds or less total time. First pass from brand new was a 1.44 60', second pass was a 1.43, third was a 1.45. This is a 275/60-15 M/T.

The M/T's have a very soft/sticky compound and do not need a lengthy burnout...all that does is wast rubber and shorten the tire life considerably.

Now, the previous BFG drag radials I ran usually needed a bit longer burnout, but still 10 seconds or less total time...probably closer to 7 or 8 seconds total.

Thanks for the input guys.... 1.4 sixty foot is unreal for a DR! Never get that out of a Nitto..

10sec, what kind of suspension setup are you running?

This car is only driven for fun, so how long they last and rain performance aren't priorities, just wanted something that would hook on the street..

Nothing real special...Hotchkis LCA's & triangulation braces, My own custom built upper arms & IC relocation brackets, Wolfe Racecraft billet spherical housing bushings & single anti-roll bar, no-name red shocks (came with a Gazan suspension kit I started with many years ago, never had the chance to replace them yet).

All I can say is the M/T drag radials are a VERY impressive tire.

I have went 1.60's on mine, leaving very soft...I was also only doing a short little burn-out(5 seconds or less)...I expect to go low 1.4's or possibly 1.3's once I drop the hammer..
