I only race my car maybe twice a year and was wondering if drag shocks are really necessary? I have Bilsteins all around and have gotten 1.70 60 ft times in the past but would like to better that. I have air bags on the car now but not sure if I really need the shocks or not.

Nope.

Unless you are turning you car into a pure race car, drag shocks are not necessary. Lots of GNs have pulled 1.5 sixty-foots without them. You have more room to grow in your engine output (105mph) so I would put my effort there.

Hopefully I have grown in the HP department. That time was with the stock turbo, injectors, torque converter and intercooler. All have been upgraded so I am expecting a better ET and MPH.

I have had tons of low 1.6 60's and a best of 1.59 with Moog springs and KYB shocks, so IMO, no you don't need drag shocks.

Shocks? What shocks? Mine are completely shot wth virtually no compression/rebound damping...
