Annual 2008 Dragfest at Barona Drag Strip. Night time racing. Gates open at 4:00 pm.

I'll be dusting her off for this one.

Nah. I called on the turbo today and they said they'll be shipping it tomorrow. I won't have time to install it for this weekend. :(

This event has been advertised pretty heavy. Should be a good showing of hot cars. I know for a fact at least one nostalgia dragster will be there.

i predict a 5.63@125:eek:

good luck don.

Scott, where have you been? Have not heard from you in a long time. How is the truck coming?
Good luck Don, I wish I could make it out there but I have other commitments.
Jeff

Thanks for the positive thinking Scott. I just don't think this T76 has it in it. :( Still waiting for the new turbo to come in. :( I'm with Jeff, what's been going on? You putting that truck on nitro? With that FI98X it should be interesting. Are you going to a V8? Inquiring minds want to know. And they want to know now, dang it!!!

Sorry you can't make it Jeff. I heard there's going to be some news coverage up there. KSON is going to be broadcasting live from 3pm to 5pm up there. Some motorcycle stunt exhibition thing during the event. Supposed to be a big shindig.

Gates are opening at 9:00am to let racers into the pits. Spectator gates open at 3:00pm. Racing starts at 6:00pm. I'm all loaded and ready to go. I should be up there by 11 or 12, if not sooner.

Still here. Decided to try something new. Setting the truck up for 200mph+ Record is 190.
Anyone like Moon discs?;)

btw-truck was on 15% a few years ago(with the v6) Ran good! Expensive though.

15% with gasoline?

I've got to work out a little bit before I start entering Bikini contests. Yeah, those hotty chicks were lucky I wasn't prepared this time. Next time though.

Seriously, I was too busy on the computer working on the fuel map to watch the contest, but judging by the announcer's enthusiasm, it was a real hit with the crowd.

I installed the new fuel pump in preparation for the new turbo. This new pump has no problem referencing the fuel pressure to map pressure. Lots more fuel in the boost regions of the VE table.

Made 5 runs. The first 2 were a bust. So much fuel it just killed the engine when it hit boost. The last three are below.

3rd run
60 foot: 1.471
330 et: 3.985
330 mph: 91.532
660 et: 6.072
660 mph: 117.350

4th run
60 foot: 1.489
330 et: 4.039
330 mph: 90.605
660 et: 6.145
660 mph: 116.750

5th run
60 foot: 1.497
330 et: 4.047
330 mph: 90.889
660 et: 6.133
660 mph: 117.870

Ended the testing with most of the midrange reading at .69 lambda. That's the richest reading my setup can give me. So far I've turned down the dial on the volt booster for the fuel pump from 35% to 0% and taken out 20% of injector pw across the board in the boost regions. The ETs are down about .15 to .20 of a second, but the MPHs are about right for a boost of 24 psi. At least a tenth of that lost et is in the 60 ft. There's a drop in rpm where the nitrous turns off that should turn around when I get the mixture dialed back in.

Skeered? SKEERED!? Hah! I laugh in the face of skeered!

Hah! I made funny, no?

15% with gasoline?

I would run a 10% mix with the Alky. ;) Hints why my 150,000mi stock block ran so well.
I talked with VP two years ago and they said Nitro and gas will separate like water and oil but Nitro will mix with Alky & when sprayed through the nozzle in the alky kit it will mix with gas just fine.

Separation is a prob. Gotta run that pump fast and keep it circulated. Worth a 1/10 in my 1/8mi. Brent and I have some talking to do:biggrin:
