I want to drain my fuel tank of whatever old gas is left in there not sure how much is left but there is some I did a search in the general section and it's seems straight forward but still not to sure is there a thread or link on step by step on doing this maybe with pics of what needs to b done ? I want to do it once without making a mess I read something about a grey wire behind the alternator that needs 12 v for pumping gas out but I don't see that wire on my 85 is that only on the 86/87s? Once I remove the shrader valve do I need to relieve the pressure ? Or just hook up a hose once the shrader valve is removed? Do I need to turn the key ignition on at all to do this procedure? Any help tips advice is welcome guys thanx oh I brought up an old thread in the general section regarding some thread that has a link on how it's done with pics maybe u guys know of it's location ?

you can jump a wire on the oil pressure plug to power the pump- one wire is a keyed ignition source, one goes to the oil light, and the other activates the fuel pump relay. just start jumping wires until the pump comes on..
you hook a hose to the shrader valve to get the gas to a can. i made a handy hose out of a 4 foot chink of cheap 1/4" air hose with a 1/4" fitting on it with the hose from my fuel pressure gauge hooked up to it. i can fill up a 5 gallon can from my Regal in about 5 minutes.

but if you do this, make sure you pay attention to the fuel flow.. shut off the pump as soon as fuel stops flowing or you could burn up the fuel pump.

If you don't want to use the fuel pump method just buy this.
Multi-Use Transfer Pump
Made draining brake, and differential fluid a breeze for me and sure it will work with the tank. The line should be long enough and it might not get everything but a good amount.
