I just had my 84 t-type painted and all new interior and all new rubber molding. window sweeps in and out, door rubber molding and drip rail rubber. All of these items came from Postons..I'm not sure of the brand. The problem I am having is the windows will not go up all the way when the doors are closed. With the doors closed the windows seem to be rubbing the rubber so hard that it prevents the windows from going up. Any ideas on a fix?

thanks Tim

Sounds like the adjustments are wrong. I doubt the weatherstripping will hold a window motor back but they will slow it down. Take off your panel and see what is happening. You may be able to tweak it yourself.

window adjustments

I recently had my 87 GN painted and replaced all the door and window rubber. I also replaced the window motors and the plastic up guide (near the door lock) which required removing the window. After installing the window, I encountered the same thing you are talking about. I have adjusted the window more than I care to think about, and finally have it done. It is tedious and time consuming, although I am sure a pro could do it faster. I bought Pete Serio's book on "Window Rattles" and the kits from Kirban. The book was a big help! Good luck
