I’m getting my Eaton trutrac set up and my mechanic say my driveshaft is inch and a half too long so I’m looking for a stock or aftermarket ds and dimensions would help TIA

I give-up how did it get too long ? did he change the pinion yoke?
Years ago when I bought my car drive shaft was in the car transmission was in the trunk maybe the drive shaft was from another vehicle I struggled to get it to fit and towed it to aamco they must if loosed the rear to fit the ds in. Now that it’s being worked on mechanic tells me I need to cut an inch and a half. I’m confused about this as well I’ve been driving every day for 4 months and it had some vibration at take off I thought it may just be u joints but then the carrier broke

if you don't want to spring for a really nice new shaft from Denny's there should be a drive shaft shop locally that can fix you up.
I think a local shop can fix you up cheaper than a member shipping you one we have replaced.
51 1/2 is the correct length to tell the drive shaft shop, just to double check what the other shop said was needed.

My thoughts exactly

Got it done for under $200 thanks everyone still not sure why it was too long in the first place but whatever.
